Air O Swiss U200 Ultrasonic Humidifier

I was looking for a humidifier to put in my baby’s bedroom and after a long time trawling the internet for the perfect humidifier, I came across the Air O Swiss U200 Ultrasonic Humidifier. I read several reviews that claimed it was perfect for a baby’s room and so I decided this would be the one for me.

The reason this humidifier is rated so highly for children is that it features an array of safety features, is well priced and suits a smaller sized bedroom. It is small, so it’s easily portable, and thanks to the fact that it is an ultrasonic humidifier it is quiet and does not require heat to run, which can be an issue with warm mist humidifiers.

The Basics

The Air O Swiss U200 Ultrasonic Humidifier provides humidification for areas up to 430 square feet. From what I understand this isn’t the greatest range for a humidifier, but since this is a table top humidifier that you will most likely be using for a small room, it does not really cause a problem.

It’s an extremely easy to use humidifier with manual controls that allow me to set and adjust the levels of humidity that I want. It does not allow me to set it exactly, only to pre-set settings, which is a little bit of a drawback. It’s also very modern looking and fits well into my child’s room – I imagine that it would also look good in just about any room. It is very compact, and this means you can place it on table tops or just about anywhere in the room and it will not be an inconvenience.

The Air O Swiss U200 Ultrasonic Humidifier is almost silent when it runs, so my child can have a good night’s sleep without being disturbed by noise. I was initially drawn to this humidifier because it was recommended for children and I can see why. The Hydro Cell and demineralization cartridge ensure that only safe mist is dispersed. This is essential if it is being used for kids because they can be sensitive to white mist and bacteria that can be promoted with some humidifiers.

Other drawbacks of this humidifier include the fact that it must be elevated 2 feet off the ground. Of course, as a small, light model that does not cause too much of a problem, but certainly limits you in terms of where you can place it in a room. It also does not have the longest running time that I saw at just 7 hours, but with the auto off function this can actually be a good thing if you are putting the humidifier in a child’s room since it will not keep running through the whole night, and will turn off once the tank runs out of water.

The Verdict

The Air O Swiss U200 Ultrasonic Humidifier has done wonders for my child’s room and stopped him coughing so much at night, which is the reason I bought it in the first place. It looks good in the room and is very easy to operate, even for a beginner like me.

This humidifier is geared towards people that aren’t looking for the most expensive humidifier out there, but one that works in a reliable way, is easy to use and is safe. With all those things considered I think it does a fine job.
